Zapato Amarillo
Ruta U-55 Km 2,5 La gruta Puerto Octay, Los Lagos Region, Chile, Puerto Octay, Chile
Description
Small chalet with grass roof and wooden interior, set in a landscape of extraordinary beauty, where the discerning traveller may find a cozy place to rest tired feet, and savour oven-warm home-made swiss bread and delicious Chilean fare. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the "Land of Blue Mirrors", so called for its innumerable lakes, reflecting snow-capped, elegant mountains, towering over lush native forest.
Our lodge is run by a Swiss-Chilean family. We offer comfortable double & dorm rooms with private & shared bath and evening meals such as fresh salmon dishes, beef stews, salads and vegetarian food, everything “a petit feuâ€, as well as home-made "Puerto Octay" cheese fondue.
We have a spacious garden, parking facilities, Internet access, a laundry service, and a clean kitchen for guests (self-catering or otherwise). We provide good, accurate and up-to-date information and maps of the area and the usual treks undertaken. We also offer luggage storage facilities. There is also a well-maintained library of English, German, French and Spanish books. The "Zapato Amarillo" (Yellow Shoe) is the perfect place to either "chill out" after an exhausting expedition to Patagonia, or to “tank up†before a difficult trail to the mountains, or further south.
